Designer Biography Keoula has been working as a designer in the fashion industry for the past eight years. Originally born in Laos, Keoula moved to Australia in 1985 at the age of nine. After undertaking a degree in business studies she went on to study Fashion Design and Production at the Moreton Institute of TAFE. Keoula was the winner of the Golden Gown Award in 1999 and has also been a finalist in the RAQ awards two years in succession. She has twice won the Flair Fashion Award and her dresses have appeared on TV and in the media on many occasions. The Keooula label was started as a “one woman show” but is now supported by a dedicated team. The inspiration for the designs of Keoula’s dresses are derived from her travels, music, movies and the arts, especially Lao arts, which are featured in her 2009 collection. Keoula believes a dress should have the three “W” factors, “Well-made, Wearable and Wow.” Label Background The Keooula label was founded in 2000 as a made to measure service for private clients. Keoula quickly discovered a niche in the market for unique designs that fit well and are made to a high standard. The label quickly became popular for formals and special occasions. In time the label grew and evolved and can now be found in evening and bridal stores across Queensland and New South Wales. The label is sort after for its striking design, attention to detail and the exclusivity of the brand. Keoula’s future goals for the label are to continue its dedication to creating beautiful designs and servicing many new, as well as, existing clients. |
